Dr Gregory-Roberts graduated in Medicine from the University of Sydney with honours and completed a Masters degree in the discipline of Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney. Following this, she trained in Ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne. Emily then further developed her skills in glaucoma management and complex glaucoma and cataract surgery working as a clinical fellow at the Oxford Eye Hospital in Oxford, United Kingdom. As part of a desire to provide the best possible patient care, Emily also has an interest in research. She worked as a research fellow in the ophthalmology department at Columbia University in New York and her research has been published in multiple scientific journals, including ‘Ophthalmology’ and ‘Eye’. She is affiliated with the University of Sydney as a Clinical Lecturer in the Sydney Medical School.
As a clinician, Emily aims to understand patients’ problems and concerns and help them by providing up-to-date care with a range of treatment options including medication, laser and surgery. She has the skills to offer the latest minimally invasive surgery techniques and devices, and she tailors each patient’s treatment to their individual needs.
Dr Noor Ali
MBChB FRANZCO General Ophthalmologist, Cataract Surgeon, Specialist in Glaucoma, Retinal Disease and Uveitis
Dr. Noor Ali is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. She graduated with her medical degree from the University of Auckland, New Zealand in 2010. She completed her Ophthalmology training in New Zealand. She undertook subspecialty training in Medical Retina and Uveitis at the prestigious Sydney Eye Hospital and Westmead Hospital; and in Glaucoma at the world-renowned Oxford Eye Hospital. She a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialist, the Australian and New Zealand Glaucoma Society, as well as the Uveitis Special Interest Group.
Dr Ali is an experienced and precise cataract surgeon with the ultimate goal of clear, crisp vision. She is highly skilled in managing complex cataracts with co-existing glaucoma or ocular inflammation. In addition to mastering the gold standard glaucoma surgeries such as trabeculectomy and tube implants, she worked at the Imperial College Trust Western Eye Hospital in London and learned the latest techniques in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery or MIGS that can be combined with routine cataract surgery to provide her patients with an opportunity to receive the latest in technological advancements.
Dr. Ali actively participates in research and has published a number of peer reviewed articles in international journals, and won several research prizes. She has been a surgical tutor at the cataract simulation course for ophthalmologists in training, and has taught medical students, nurses, optometrists and orthoptists as part of her commitment to continued education of the eye services workforce. In her spare time, Dr Ali enjoys trail running and fusion cuisine. Her principles of practice are an open and collaborative style of communication, focusing on how any eye condition or treatment affects each patient as a whole.
Dr Sebastian Brown
BVSc(Hons II) MBBS(Hons I) FRANZCO General Ophthalmologist and Cataract Surgeon
Dr Sebastian Brown is a comprehensive general ophthalmologist with special interests in cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, glaucoma and medical retina conditions. After completing his Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Dr Brown obtained his medical degree at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (First Class Honours). During this time, Dr Brown was awarded The Royal North Shore Medal for academic excellence. Dr Brown undertook specialist ophthalmology training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), completed through The Sydney Eye Hospital network. He also trained in numerous hospital settings across New South Wales, Darwin and Hobart. Collectively, these experiences provided extensive exposure to all facets of ophthalmology. Following this, Dr Brown completed a comprehensive general fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Liverpool Hospital in Sydney. He currently holds public appointments at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. In his spare time, Dr Brown enjoys travelling, surfing, swimming and cycling. He is also a kite-surfing enthusiast, and he speaks Spanish.

Rebecca Tobias
BOptom (Hons), MOptom, GradCertOcTher Optometrist
Rebecca graduated from the Bachelor of Optometry degree at UNSW Australia with first class honours. She subsequently also completed her graduate certificate of ocular therapeutics and Master of Optometry at UNSW. Following graduation, Rebecca worked in full scope optometry in several private practices across Sydney. Between 2011 and 2021, Rebecca worked as a senior staff optometrist at the Centre for Eye Health, an advanced ocular imaging centre with the aim of early detection of eye disease. Her work here primarily involved assessment of glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. Her role also included supervision and teaching of final year optometry students, research and also development of continuing education materials for optometrists in practice.
Rebecca applies a combination of empathy and critical thinking to patient care in order to optimise clinical outcomes. She loves being able to give patients the best possible vision through early detection of any eye problem and calculating the perfect glasses prescription for them.
The Sight Foundation Theatre
Dr Gregory-Roberts operates in the Sight Foundation Theatre at Sydney Eye Hospital (Macquarie Street, Sydney).
